Trip Itinerary
Day 1
Sapa - Suoi Ho - Lu khau - Taphin village
Grade: Easy-Medium, Distance: 12-13km, Duration: 4-5h walk, Elevation: 200-300m
The trek begins at about 9:00am, trek down to pine tree forest / rice terrace fields in a deep valley to Suoi Ho village of Hmong ethnic people, the village is located in a small valley and surrounded by beautiful rice terrace fields. Have a look at a traditional wooden house to explore their mystery culture and then crossing beautiful scenery of rice paddy fields.
Keep trekking to Giang Cha village with a panorama of a small beautiful valley. 13:00: Lunch in the local restaurant and then walking down to corn fields with black limestone fields, bamboo forest. You have a chance to visit one of the most beautiful rice terraces viewpoints in Sapa, a panorama of the valley.
Discovery of Dzao ethnic people in Ta Phin valley. In addition you also feel the peaceful countryside of the northern mountains, friendly farmers and enthusiasm to work hard on their fields.
Arrive to the homestay in the afternoon. You can have a traditional herbal bath in the local homestay, It is really good for health after trekking (optional, You pay for the herbal bath by yourself).
Enjoy dinner with family - Overnight the homestay of Red Dzao people in Ta Phin village.
Day 2
Saxeng- Can Ho - Suoi Thau village
Grade: Medium-Hard, Distance: 14-15km, Duration: 5-6h walk, Elevation: 300-500m
9:00am: Goodbye to the friendly family, we continue uphill to black hmong village which is located on the mountainside with a panorama of the Taphin valley. An authentic and non touristy place.
Trek down hill to rice paddy field and a big view, a very quiet and authentic place with beautiful landscape. Overview of China mountain
13:00: Picnic Lunch in a nice river and possible swimming in the river and then walking to the homestay of Dao friendly people, enjoy dinner with happy water with family, it is very basic wooden house and hearing a lot of interesting information about the village from your guide.
Overnight in a homestay of Red Dzao people (a village near China).
Day 3
Gia Khau - Kim Ngan - Mong Xoa village in Ta Giang Phinh Valley
Grade: Medium-Hard, Distance: 13km, Duration: 4-5h walk, Elevation: 400-500m
After breakfast your remote trek will start around 8h30 - 9h00 am, it‘s a chance to discover the diversity of the tropical nature, enjoy the beautiful mountain views all along the way. Meeting the Hmong and Dao peoples, the perfect opportunity to experience their daily lives through their various plantations, trek up and down to different valleys. Amazing panorama of different valleys.
12h30: Lunch in a local restaurant.
Arrival at the small village of Mong Xoa in the afternoon. If the weather allows, you could enjoy a nice swim in the river/ walking around the village to meet villagers and discover their daily life, hunting beautiful pictures of ethnic people and rice terrace fields.
You will spend another night and share a cosy dinner with a friendly Hmong ethnic family.
Day 4
Mong Xoa - Love and Silver waterfall - Lonely tree in Heaven Gate - Sapa - Sin Chai Village
Grade: Easy-Medium, Distance: 11-12km, Duration: 4-5h walk, Elevation: 200-300m
A nice day with new and different visits.
08:00am: Breakfast time
08:45: Take the car to the biggest waterfalls in Sapa (40 minutes driving).
Have a short walk in a national park with many old trees, golden stream and possibly swimming in Love waterfall. Keep going to Lonely tree point in Heaven gate which is the highest pass in Vietnam (2000 m above sea level, Lonely tree is the best viewpoint in Heaven gate area). A spectacular of big and deep valley, Enjoy fresh air and cool windy in here, you will feel same like on heaven with cloud is flying on bottom of the valley, taking some nice pictures.
Continue to Silver waterfall. Walking up and passing a bridge in Silver waterfall to have a beautiful picture of the waterfall and mountain view.
Take a car to O Quy Ho village for trekking down to beautiful green tea hill, passing through the green tea and hunting beautiful pictures and then walking on a dirt trail to characteristic rice and corn fields that give Sapa its reputation.
A picnic lunch in a nice view point or river.
Keep walking to Visit a local house in Sin Chai village to explore their daily life, this village is a home to great weavers of hemp and indigo who use traditional techniques to craft their tribal costumes.
14:30/15:00: Come back to Sapa by car, have a hot shower in our office in Sapa. Resting time or visiting Sapa town by yourself.
15:30: Go to Sapa bus station for a bus to Hanoi / 17:30 take our bus to Lao Cai train station for night train back to Hanoi. End Tour.
