Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Sapa - Matra - Lu khau - Taphin village
Grade:
Easy-Medium, Distance: 12-13km, Duration: 4-5h walk, Elevation: 200-300m 

05:30/06:00AM: Our driver picks you up from Lao Cai train station/ Sapa bus station (or 09:00AM in your hotel in Sapa town) to our office in Sapa to begin the tour.

09:00AM: Trek down to pine tree forest / rice terrace fields in a deep valley to Matra village of Hmong ethnic people, the village is located in a small valley and surrounded by beautiful rice terrace fields. Have a look at a traditional wooden house to explore their mystery culture and then crossing beautiful scenery of rice paddy fields. 

Keep trekking to Giang Cha village with a panorama of a small beautiful valley. 13:00: Lunch in the local restaurant and then walking down to corn fields with black limestone fields, bamboo forest. You have a chance to visit one of the most beautiful rice terraces viewpoints in Sapa, a panorama of the valley.

 Discovery of Dzao ethnic people in Ta Phin valley. In addition you also feel the peaceful countryside of the northern mountains, friendly farmers and enthusiasm to work hard on their fields. 

Arrive to the homestay in the afternoon. You can have a traditional herbal bath in the local homestay, It is really good for health after trekking (optional, You pay for the herbal bath by yourself). 

Enjoy dinner with family - Overnight the homestay of Red Dzao people in Ta Phin village.

Day 2

Suoi Thau – Phin Ho – Ban Khoang - Sin Chai village
Grade:
Medium-Hard, Distance: 16-17km, Duration: 6-7h walk, Elevation: 300-400m 

08:30AM: Breakfast at the homestay

09:15: Trek up to Suoi Thau village of Hmong ethnic people. Have an amazing beautiful panorama of Ta Phin valley (one of the most beautiful places for rice terrace fields in Sapa Vietnam). You will pass through several minority villages along the way.

The nice walk to the rice paddy field  and arrive at the top of the mountain and enjoy breathtaking views over the fantastic valley. Overview of a high mountain with a deep valley (Near China).

Keep walking along the side of the mountain (down and up) to visit a Red Dzao village which is located in the middle of the mountain, jungle (Phin Ho village) and beautiful rice terrace fields valley, an authentic and peaceful area ( Non touristy).

13:00: Lunch in local restaurant in Ban Khoang village 

14:00: Take a car (20 minutes) to  O Quy Ho village and walk on a trail to see green tea hill and vegetable garden, trek through rice paddy field and river if it is hot you can swim in there.

16:30/17:00: Arrive to a homestay in Sin Chai village, refresh and help family to cook the dinner

Overnight this Hmong homestay and enjoy dinner with family.

Day 3

San xa Ho - Chai San - Lao Chai village in Muong Hoa valley

Easy-Medium, Distance: 13km, Duration: 4-5h walk, Elevation: 200-400m 

90:00AM: A new day with  Authentic Tour in Sapa, this day we go down hill to waterfall, nice pictures and have a look some wooden house from ethnic people and then trek up and down to rice paddy field and have a rest in a river, a peaceful and non touristy area, possible swimming in the river if it is hot.

12:00: Lunch in a local restaurant in Chai San village

Trekking down Lao Chai village to see the biggest and nicest valley in sapa (Muong Hoa valley). 

Walking around the valley and village to discover ethnic daily life, weaving traditional clothes by hemp and indio, hunting beautiful pictures.  

Overnight homestay and enjoy dinner with the family.

Day 4
Lao Chai - Tavan - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan - Sapa/Lao Cai
Grade: Easy-Medium, Distance: 12-13km, Duration: 4-5h walk, Elevation: 200-300m

Nice breakfast in the homestay and goodbye to the family to keep trekking through beautiful rice paddy fields, crossing the bamboo jungle and stopping in a small waterfall and quiet village of Hmong and Dzao people. Trek down to Flower River and possibly swim and relax on a big rock for sun bath. 

13:00: Have lunch in a local restaurant.

Possible to continue the trek up and down to Su Pan village of Hmong ethnic people, enjoy beautiful views of mountain and terrace fields on the way, and panorama of the valley.

14:30/15:00: Come back to Sapa  by car, have a hot shower in our office in Sapa. Resting time or visiting Sapa town by yourself.

15:30: Go to Sapa bus station for a bus to Hanoi / 17:30 take our bus to Lao Cai train station for night train back to Hanoi. End Tour.
